Astrosmash is a landmark fixed shooter game for the Intellivision console. It combines elements of space shooters and fixed shooters, where players control a laser cannon that moves horizontally to destroy falling meteors, bombs, and UFOs.
The game was a major commercial success, shipping nearly 1 million copies by mid-1983 and becoming the third best-selling Intellivision title. Its popularity led Mattel to include it as the default cartridge with the Intellivision Master Component console, replacing Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack.
