The game was a major commercial success for Imagic, ranking as their second highest-grossing title after Demon Attack. The Intellivision version was critically acclaimed for its superior graphics and sound compared to other third-party releases on the system, earning a "Certificate of Merit" runner-up in the "Video Game of the Year" category from Video magazine in 1983. Unlike the Atari 2600 version, the Intellivision release did not support simultaneous two-player co-op, limiting players to alternating turns.
